29th April , 2020 | Will A Huge Asteroid Hit The Earth | 1998 OR-2

         We all have listened on different social medias platform that on 29th April , 2020 , a huge asteroid is is going to hit the Earth and will destroy the presence of human and humanity from the Earth . In fact , it will destroy the whole Earth . It is like the Asteroid named " Chicxulub impactor " that destroyed the whole dinosaur species .                                                              1998 OR-2   

The name of the Asteroid that is believed to hit the Earth in April is 1998 OR-2 . And with it's name it is clear that it was founded in 1998 , July 24 . It is one of the NEO [ Near-Earth Object ] discovered by the NEAT Program at the Haleakala Observatory , Hawaii . It is categorized as PHO [ Potentially Hazardous Object ] . It is member of group Amor . 
It has also came from the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter . It's diameter ranges from 2-4 Km with mean diameter of 2.06 Km . It's speed is about 54,717 Km/Hr . And it takes 32.68 Years to complete one revolution around the sun .

  After a long study of CNEOS [ Center for Near-Earth Object Studies ] , the scientists had categorized it as Potentially Hazardous Object . PHO [ Potentially Hazardous Object ] are those object whose diameter is more than 150 m and is going to transit our Earth [ Pass By ] from very near , about a distance of 75 lakh Km from the Earth's center . 

As 1998 OR-2 is also categorized as PHO [ Potentially Hazardous Object ] , and is going to pass nearby from the Earth , it is possible that the Gravitational force of Earth will pull it toward itself . And if this Asteroid will hit the Earth , it will be very devastating and will destroy all the living population . 

BUT , 

It is not going to happen . 

It will pass from near our Earth with a distance of about 68 lakh Km . So , it is sure that it will not hit the Earth . The mean distance between the Earth and the Moon is 384,400 Km. So you can just compare . From comparison , 1998 OR-2 is going to pass above the Earth with a distance 20 times  more  that the Earth and The Moon .

Till today , about 157 asteroid with diameters more than 1 Km had passed from near the Earth , and we are still safe .
